How to set up baseball walk-up songs for game day
Do the sorting before you reach the field. Then game day becomes one job: find the next player and tap play.
1
Check the field rules first
Ask the league or tournament director when music may play, how long a clip can run, and who controls the speaker. Rules can change by field and age group. Confirm the clean-language standard with your team too.
2
Collect one song choice per player
Use a short form or team message. Ask for the song title, artist, and the part the player wants to hear. Give families a deadline so you are not rebuilding the list beside the dugout.
3
Build the batting order
Add each player and song before the game. Put the roster in batting order. If the order changes, fix it while the team is warming up, not when the first batter is walking to the plate.
4
Choose the part of each song to play
Skip a long intro and start at a section people recognize quickly. Set the start time and clip length to fit the rule you confirmed. Preview every clip and listen for lyrics that may not be suitable at the field.
5
Test the phone and speaker together
Pair the same phone and speaker you will use on game day. Check the volume in an open space, confirm the phone has internet access, and open Apple Music before warmups. Stadium Music uses Apple Music catalog playback, which requires an active subscription and internet connection.
6
Keep the game-day routine simple
Open Gameday before the inning starts. Watch the on-deck batter, then tap the next player when the field is ready. Keep one adult responsible for music so the phone and speaker do not move around the dugout.
Try it with your team
Set up four players free
Stadium Music keeps the roster, Apple Music clips, and game-day play buttons together. Unlimited players cost $0.99 once.
